Eating is a culture!

Some of you might have thai friends who come from different parts of Thailand. They might have different habbit in a way of living. However, I’m pretty sure that they must be very fond of their national dishes. The savory and salty soup,so-callled “ Tom Yum” , is a good example of what makes every Thai who lives aboard searhes for  and craving to find out where to get it no matter they need to pay more or they need to learn how to cook it by themselves.

Let’s talk about the summer salad “Yum Woon Sen” that is consisted with the sour taste of juicy lime together with  the freshness of the shrimps that, within a spoon, can stop the world outside. It seems to you that we are very used to eating our local dishes. Yes! We are and that is how the culture is started. If one kid says to his mother that he is hungry. It basically shakes the resposibility of a good mother to find him something to bite. “Never let the baby gets hungry otherwise the baby will get angry”, well said. It might be some food from at stand in the market along the street or even  a snacks from Seven Eleven.

Because we have never been stopped from eating. Therefore when we gather together with friends and one of us is hungry, we would start to eat immediately without any offenses. Or else people who are ealry  frist persons at  the table will start the meal on time. You know Thai appointment you need to add more waiting time from 10-30 minuites or even more. Sorry to say but we always say “better late than never” .Food can also be a symbol of kindness or care. We give a friut basket or well-packaged snacks from the provice  to any friends  who are in the hospital. When we visit cousins, we also bring fruits or salty snacks in  hand. It’s considerd very well mannered to bring some food to any friends house where you will go anytime. There is no doubt that any kind of food can be used as a gift for any festival or party. It couldn’t be nicer if we get to try any delicious snacks from strangers. To sumup ,Food is everything for Thai, and Thai loves Food!
